Traveling south from Cebu City, you
pass five municipalities and cities with roaring buses and jeepneys and other
vehicles pacing back and forth around busy streets. Vast tall establishments
are everywhere with people going in and out of it. Civilization is obviously
the picture painted here.
After passing the noises of the
commercial confines, the whole world everywhere suddenly changes. The sound
system of modern civilization is abruptly turned off.
A greener pasture then lies there –
green leaves of trees swaying back and forth with the cool breeze of air, the
bird’s chirps tingling in one’s ears, and the fresh atmosphere welcomes you to
an untouched place, somewhat like a paradise – a hidden paradise in the midst
of high mountains topped with trees, the Municipality of Barili.
